Hi Linda,
Thanks for providing your thoughts and advice on this forum.
----------------------------------
My background:
Age/Sex: 27 Male
Ethnicity: Chinese
Work Experience: 4-5 years: 1 year full time as software engineer pre graduation at a startup in LA. after graduation 2 years at a large company in SF Bay Area, and then 2 years at 2 startups in San Francisco.
I was always an engineer and was not in charge of any management of people or finances. The only 'promotion' was getting the title of senior software engineer at my last startup. my progression of salary: 55k to 88k.
Undergrad: 3.0 GPA, Computer Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign
GMAT: 780 (Q51 V47) AWA (don't know yet)
Extra Curriculars:
I participated in a study abroad program at Beijing, China during college in summer of 2000.
I sold software I had written for a gross of about 50k pre-college.
Short term goal: move from a purely engineering role to a more product management/engineering role.
Long term goal: to found a successful tech company.
I am very worried about how to tackle things like the lack of leadership evidence, the lack of extra curriculars, and the low undergraduate GPA. What are my chances of being accepted into the evening/weekend MBA program at Haas?
I would also like to know whether I should go for a concentration in Entrepreneurship or Technology in terms of better chances of acceptance.
Thank you for your time.
