Hi there,

I'm planning to take my GMAT in the next 35 day and I''m currently serving my 1 month notice period. I'm targeting a score of 750+. I'm currently working in a strategic/customer facing role in India.

After I finish my GMAT I plan on taking a 4-6 month break to travel. I'll be applying in the first round (Oct time) for Insead, IE, ISB and few colleges in the US.

I wanted to know whether the career break will have any negative impact on my chances of securing an admission to my target colleges.

Hi ronaldo77,

We quite agree with the previous responses to your query :) Ad Coms do not perceive a gap in employment in a positive manner. Hence, we recommend that you postpone your travel plans until you have an admit in hand. That said, if you still wish to take this break, please be prepared to explain the same in an appropriate manner in your essays.

All the best!
