Hi all,
What GMAT score if any would I need to get to give me a chance at a school like Stanford, Harvard or Wharton? I have a very low GPA in comparison to their undergraduate averages. Here is my profile -
University attended: UCONN
Major(s): Physiology & Neurobiology
GPA / Honours: 2.7
Nationality: Caucasian
Gender: M
Work Experience:
-4 years at a biotech company (8 years including working through undergrad) promoted three times and am currently now a PM bringing a drug to market.
-Founded two companies by myself that generate a total of over 500k/year (my form of a hobby after work)
-Consulted for UCONN, launched an open education program, awarded 90k for a pilot program
Undergraduate: held office in undergrad student goverment, president of a fraternity, president of two clubs, involved in research
Other: Eagle Scout if that helps me
Why the 2.7? I had two heart surgeries in my undergrad. I troopered through when I probably should have taken a year or two off. My GPA trend parallels this. I am going to be writing my essay about this experience and my goal would be to run a biotechnology company around biometric montoring around the conditions.
Freshman Year: 3.9
Sophmore Year: 2.8
Junior Year: 1.9
Senior: 3.2
I am not a very good standardized test taker but know I can get at least a decent score if I commit to studying and practicing for a few months but I'm worried that if I can only get to a decent score (600s) and not a high-top score (700+) that my GPA will be a nail in the coffin.
I appreciate any suggestions!

That GPA kind of “calls for” a high GMAT score in order to balance it out, but the GMAT score is really only one piece of the puzzle, so to speak, so it’s really hard to say where you stand without knowing more about you (I know you provided some information here, but it’s not enough for me to be able to give you a thorough profile evaluation, I am afraid).
I will say, however, that ARINGO, the company I work for, has helped clients with low GMAT scores get in to all the schools mentioned, you can see some examples here:

So it is possible to get in to the schools you mentioned even with a low GMAT score, but you will be facing a bit of an uphill battle due to that GPA.

A more thorough profile evaluation would give you a better understanding of where you stand now, if any schools should be ruled out at this point and what realistic expectations for you are etc.
