i am 23 yr old indian. i am a Chartered accountant( equvi to American CPA) by profession. i am presently working with GE CAPS as Asst. manager. i have around 15 months of workex till now and plan to apply 2 following schools in fall 07.
harvard/stanford/wharton/GSB/columbia/nyu stern/mit sloan
Apart from this i am also doing my ICWAI final(equi to UK CIMA)
I am also a certified assesor by CII ( confederation of indian industries) and a certified treasury manager by catalyst consulting group.
i have ok extra curiculars/community services.
i also have certification from NSE( national stock exchange of india) in derivatives and capital markets.
Extra curricular:
Was a school leader and college leader.
represented my school and college in inter college cricket
Stated a group called "Mavericks" consisting of all F1 fans . i was the one who started it and i am still a member of it.( started it in 2000)
helped our office staff to effectively use the paper.
Is a member of our society committee which helps in the day 2 day management of things the locality.
[b]Community service[/b]
worked with an NGO in India during the Tsunami in India ( nagapatanam
Stated a group in our locality to help people understand the effective and efficient usage of water and helped in putting thru a rain water harvesting plant in the locality.
worked with a NGO which works for people who have problems related to Eyes.
working with underpriveleged children for their rehabilitation and education
Planning to work with an NGO which works towards AIDS awareness.
now my question 2 all u gurus is
by the time i will be applying my exp wud be 2 yrs and the time i wud be joining these schools my exp wud be around 3 yrs. is it too early for these schools. i have 3 yrs of articleship exp during my CA days.
plzzz comment on my profile having regard 2 my target schools and what shud i do 2 make my profile even more suitable for these schools.

You didn't mention your post-MBA goals, which is critical to evaluating your appropriateness for these schools. Regarding your age, if you apply this coming fall for admission to the fall 2007 entering class, you will be young but not too young, especially at HBS and Stanford, which are on record as being open to younger applicants (as are increasingly more and more schools). MIT, Chicago, Stern, and Columbia skew younger than Wharton, but 25 years old is generally the lower edge of the middle 80% of student ages for the top schools.
To compensate for your younger age you need to show (a) that you have the quality of leadership experiences that older applicants have and (b) that you have a compelling reason for needing the MBA now rather than later. You seem to have good leadership stories.

As far as post MBA goals are concerned i am planning to work with I BANKS , PE , M&A after gaining substantial experience in these areas i wanna set up my own broking house( dealingin securities and derivatives) back in INDIA.
