Hi
sandysilva,
Given the facts presented, I would lean toward keeping the score. It shows the extra Quant points / ability, and you definitely need to make up for that 1 on the IR during your first exam. The only way I'd cancel it is if you plan to take the exam again before applying and felt 100% confident that you could (a) boost your Quant again, (b) get a 4 or better on the IR again, and (c) get a better overall score. You'd be betting on yourself in doing so.
But I don't think you need that pressure. You can keep the score and try again, and now that you're growing more and more used to the test -- and with added practice across Quant, Verbal, and IR -- hopefully you can put forth one of your best performances on all of the elements on the same day, which would drive up your overall score. (It's not uncommon to focus on a single area for improvement and then lose a little ground in the other area. So do your best to stay at the top of your game across all of the elements for your next re-take.) I wish you the best of luck with it!
Happy to chat about schools and your application plans if ever helpful:
