I'm wondering if I should include any summer internships that I did in college on my resume for the MBA application. I have only had one job after college (3 years experience), and I could definitely have this take up the work experience section of my resume. However, I'm wondering if it would be better to include any summer internships to show more breadth of experience, or if the internships are not relevant because they occurred while I was still in college.
Rather than thinking about following this or that rule, consider your overall narrative - where you are coming from and where you are going. Will any of those internships connect dots to your goal, claims about your special areas of contribution, unique value proposition? Think about that from the perspective of adcom and also potential internship employer. Adcom looks at your CV as would a prospective internship employer.
perfectly fine that you have only worked for one employer since college; much better than a chronic job hopper, right? have you been promoted? if so, MAKE SURE to separate out the new role to visually show progression. Even if it is just a move up in duties/budget/direct reports.
If you have not been promoted, one idea might be to group your achievements by skill ie sales/program management/process improvement etc. figure out how to best leverage the value you have created at the company.
hope this helps - recommend you work with a pro on this. it helps enormously.
