The schools do not look into failure, as your startup was part-time in your carrier. Schools see it in a positive way since you have put in all efforts to build the company apart from working full time. It will be an added advantage to show the B-schools how committed you towards your goals, and you will do anything that it takes to achieve your dream.
You can frame the essay across your startup to show Adcom that your the right candidate to get an admit in their particular B-school.

I recommend you to take some expert help to craft your essay to impress the adcom and get a positive response.

I am currently applying for MBA programs. I wanted some advice about where to include my failed startup experience. Some background:

I was involved in trying to start a FinTech company part-time. We developed the product and pitched to investors and potential partners (banks, pension funds etc.)

We tried to startup for 2 years but eventually we called it quits because there were some regulatory issues + others.

How can I put it in my CV? Especially because I am building my long-term career goal around this experience

Hello pratiknandakumar,

Apologies for the delayed response but we hope this finds you in time still.

You may include the same under your Professional Experience, along with all the necessary details pertaining to this experience. At the same time, do talk about this experience at any relevant point in your essays; particularly emphasize on the achievements.

All the best!
