Indian, Female, 30 years
Experience - 9 years
Industry - IT Research & Consulting
Function - Product management
Company - Gartner Inc.
Education - Bachelor's in Business Administration
GPA - 2.56
GMAT - 700
I'm looking to go for 1 year international MBA, and wanted to check possibility of getting a scholarship. My target list of colleges is top 20 business schools in US and Canada with the priority based on scholarships.
Please provide feedback on my profile and chances of getting a scholarship, and also what Business schools I should target for the same.

A few thoughts on your profile Isha295:

- The broad profile contour looks decent - Gartner is a good brand. However, it'll be important to understand the actual nature of your work, career trajectory and achievements. So do share. Also share what you intend to do after MBA.
- In general, MBA after 30 is tricky. So make sure you target the right programs and ensure a good fit.
- These are the best one year MBA programs out there. The default version in US/Canada is the longer MBA. EU/Asia tend to have the one year options more.
- Not sure if the scale for your GPA was 4? If yes, the score can be pretty low. If you are targeting top range schools, that, together with the GMAT may mean a tough best on the academic side. A retake might be worth considering in that case.

Considering your profile mentioned here, I can say that it will a bit tough to target top 20 B school across the US and Canada region. The reason being that most of the US/Canadian MBA program have their average GMAT above 720+ and look for GPA across 3.4 or higher. In fact, no one can do anything about your lower GPA but you can improve your chances by adding 20 - 30 points to your GMAT by taking it again.
Firstly, I suggest you analyze the difference between 1 and 2 year MBA. This can help you to understand and choose the right program suitable to achieve your post-MBA plans. Also, you can expand your target region to the UK/Asian B school as most of one year MBA program offered from this part of the globe. Said all above, you still carry an advantage being a female applicant from non - IT pool. You can also give a genuine story reasoning your lower UG score can still have chances of impressing adcom of the B schools.
You can also try your Chances for B school for 1 year MBA by trying our unique tool.
