Hi
I am trying to figure out where my recommendations should come from.
I have been working very closely with my boss who's a VP of the company (with MBA). He's been my direct boss for the past 3.5-4 years. No doubt that he needs to be one source of my recommendations.
Second one gets kind of tricky. With my current company I have been with about 2.5 years, I have been actively involved with many office functions. Organizing activities as a chair person of Advisory Committee (somewhat close to social committee), fundraising for various causes, participating student mentoring programs, and also acting as a recruiting ambassador... Doing these I have been working very closely with the HR manager of the firm. She probably can provide different perspectives than what my boss will provide. So I am thinking she can be a good source of the recommendation letters.
But these two people are both from my current work place. Could it be a problem (or could it work against me somehow??)
What about the schools, which require 3 letters?
One person I can think of is someone whom I am working closely with in the Joint Venture (partnered with a German company)... he's a LBS grad, who's managing the process and procedure of this mega project that I am working on now. Also working very closely with him. The second person is someone from where I volunteer as a financial development committee member. I have been doing volunteer work there about 1.5 years now. If I go with the first person, that means three from my current company (but from different working-relationships). I actually don’t know having recommendations from the same location (but from different people with very different background) matters in any ways. I would love to hear what you have to say on this matter. Thanks.
