HI Paul and Linda,
I am planning to apply in 2008 enterning fall 2009.
Age:23 Nationaltiy: originally and grow up in Hong Kong but studied in Australia in Monash University
Double degree in Accounting and Banking Finance.
It's a four years course but I finish it in 3 years while working full time.
My average marks is exteremely low: only 63% (Low Credit) THis is because after the Asia financial crsis, my parents were only able to pay for my school fees; therefore I have to work full time to earn enough money for the living expenses.
I squeeze my lec and tut time into 2 days from 8am-8pm and I work the rest of the week except Sunday.
Before our family was in financial crisis, I was studied in RMIT University for foundation course and GPA is 4.0 and granted a golden key membership.
Award for the exchange program to Italy with a scholarship from Monash University.
(There is about 8 student from Australia as well. I act as a group leader, held meeting, arrange flight ticket, travel plan and accommadation etc. )
Undergraduate Extracurricular Activities:
Orientation Leader in 2003. (most of the time I was at work)
During High school, I was a Socitey Captain as well as a committee of a student Union, helding cross school activites and other funtions, act in the interest of student to provide a better study enviroment.
In terms of my extracurricular Activites when I was in RMIT University, I was a Class Captain and arrange functions for Annual Parties.
I am also a student ambassdor promoting our University through visit different High school.
For Community services,
I visit the Chinese Elders People Home with the Church(once a month on Sunday)
I was also a tutor for young childen aged between 6-10 in my Church on Sunday as well, we have tutorial time and playing group activities.
Work experience:
3 years full time in a stationery trading company ( 2 years as a supervisor with 5 team members)
Half year Intership with Morison International Accounting firm in China
Currently, 1 year in Nestle Australia Ltd as a graduate accountant, I had successfully compete among 3000 candiates in Australia(National) and I was the only one employed. They seek graduate once every four year (my employer told me that he didn't really concern about my academic given my situations. Yet, I can still manage to finish it early then the normal duration. They told me everyone can learn technical skills, but what they are looking for is soft skills.)
For the year I have work in Nestle, I have been assigned and in charge of the the $42Million Project. I have successful capture information and improve the efficiency among Account Receiveble and Sales Division. I had also send out some detail procedure to improve the efficienty of the company. And now that procedures has been widely used across my company. My employer is very impress with what I have done for them so far.
As a result, I had be placed into another project for my next step, as a team member and I expect I can deliever what they ask for and most importantly, will exceed their expecations. I admit that I am a very confidence person.
Currently, studying towards CPA. Manage to finish it within 1.5 years with at lest Distintion Average.
Planning to achieve my current ojective (CPA) then take my GMAT test in fall 2007. Expected to get 700+.
By the time I apply I will have 2 ＋3 years Nestle full time experience with a qualification in CPA. In the meantime, I will keep building up my leaderships experience from whatI have learnt from the past.
I had a chat with my Manager last week about my idea of doing an MBA later on. He agree and also indicated that I am expect to go to the Higher Management Level in the future as I'm employed from their graduate program.
Why MBA?
Given the situation that I will likey to become a higher level management personnel, I strong fees that an MBA can bring me an graeat advantage in General Management. I am a very in detail but this is not enough. I need to be a thinker and look at the big picture well. From what MBA will provided me a great opportunity to gain greater understanding in being a thinker as well as General Management.
From the above information provided, can you assess my chance to get in HBS?

Your undergraduate grades will hurt you at HBS. It sounds like you are not currently in a leadership position at Nestle--HBS is all about leadership. I also don't think your community involvement is quite at the HBS level (no leadership in your current volunteer activities). HBS would probably also wonder why you need an HBS MBA to rise through Nestle Australia. Finally, your (written) English is not polished enough. For these reasons, I think your chances at HBS are small.

I thought leadership for them had a broder context.
Also, do you mean that even though I get a Distintion Average in my CPA studies and a high marks in GMAT, still doesn't work for them?
How high the mark you would suggest? 700+ 750 +?
I know English is my weakness, I will read more book and tried to improve it.
