Hi,
I have given the GMAT Exam twice now, I scored a 620(Q48,V27) in my first attempt and now I scored a 660(Q47,V35).
A little about me -
I am a B.Tech in Computer Sciences. I currently work with one of the Big Four Consulting Firms as a Cyber Risk Associate.
I have been working for 2.5 years and will complete 3 Years in May.
High School - 89%
College - 75%
Professional Life -
I have been working as a Risk Advisor in Cyber Implementation. While working with the firm, I single handedly implemented (the tool is already developed) a machine learning tool that helped to predict risks along with the probability of risk from a cyber prospective without any human supervision, this significantly reduced time and effort. The tool was customised to fit the needs of the project.
I have been promoted twice in my 3 years(assuming I leave the firm before August) at the firm. I have also contributed to various firm contribution projects which would in lay men terms extra-curricular from a company's prospective.
I interned with a start up wherein I also taught kids from Middle School things like - Film Making (Just a passion of mine and I am very comfortable in a lot industry standard editing tools without any formal training) as well as a little bit coding.
I have also worked with a Student Initiative called AIESEC, I was responsible for the International Students who were interning through AIESEC in India. In this capacity I led a team of 5 people.
Non-Profit and NGOs
As part of Company's CSR, as well as a brief period during which I worked with small NGOs, I taught kids from middle school, subjects like maths and Social Studies.
I have really excelled in my Extra-curriculars back in my school days, I have won National Literacy Championship etc etc. I don't know if that would count here and if it makes sense to talk about that in my application?
Reasons to do MBA -
I really want to make a shift from Technology to Business. I believe I'll be a better fit there.
Also as a long term goal, I have a business idea of my own, but before that I really want to work and understand the business side first.
My Question - Will it make a difference if I get a 680 on my GMAT? The reason I ask this, because I was scoring a 670-680 on my mocks. So I was wondering f I should put in another month of study and then give the exam again? Will it make sense to put that time and money and try aiming for a 20 point higher score.
Thank You
