Hi,
I am interested in the NUS M.Sc. Marketing Science (earlier knows as M.Sc. Marketing Analytics and Consumer Insights). Unfortunately, I have not found anyone who's done the same course. How am I supposed to know the value?

I know this isn't the right place to post but I am lost.

monodeep Dutta, a few thoughts on your profile evaluation and plans:
  1. The academic arc looks about average given the GPA; since you've not mentioned the name of your undergrad, I am guessing it's not a top tier. If it is, make sure to always bring that out. The GMAT in that regard could further make the arc look modest. One can easily add 20-30 points to a given school's average to get a sense of the Indian GMAT average. Any plans for a retake?
  2. The professional profile sounds interesting but it's well elaborated in terms of scale, impact and employer credibility. It appears that you have had multiple short-stints? If that's the case, will need to put into perspective to ensure the career choices don't come across as flippant. The business nature of the profile will help.
  3. School level stuff is largely irrelevant. Try to bring out ECs and other activities, in college and beyond. This is why ECs matter.
  4. For reasons mentioned here, we don't speculate on school selection and chances. That being said, with more clarity, sharpness and potentially a higher score, you should have a pretty good shot overall.

Hope this helps some. Feel free to reach out directly for more.

Allow me to elaborate:

1. Grad from St Xavier's College, Kolkata - it ranks no.1-3 consistently for my course so it's definitely Tier 1.

2. I am planning a retake because I feel a 720-30 is the best reflection of my ability. Having said that, I'm not a 100% confident of getting that score but I will definitely give it one last shot. If it doesn't work, I plan to apply anyway.

3. My extra curriculars have always hinged around sports but I picked up a major injury during college trials and never recovered. Hence, EC's have been non-existent ever since.

4. Yes, short stints in my first 2 years due to reasons associated with startups- pivots, ambiguity etc

Have been in my current role for 3+ years almost.

5.
Leadership/Global Work Experience:
- Captain and Vice-Captain of multiple sports teams in School
- Sole POC for my program/project- directly reporting to Director and CEO
- Managed interns and associates (one at a time) for projects at my current job
- Worked with stakeholders across SEA, Europe, and North America

Other hobbies:
- Trekking
- Mixed Martial arts
- All things sports

Can you also tell me the best way to reach you directly?

monodeep Dutta, Xavier's is good - always say that upfront!

And a retake will definitely help.

You can drop me an email on mcb (at) mbacrystalball (dot) com with a recent resume and further queries/plans. We can take it from there.
