Hi Fellas,
I am a prospective MBA applicant for the 2019-20 application cycle.
Following is my profile:
GRE-314 ( Q157, V157,AWA 3.5)
GPA- 3.5
Background- Automotive Engineering
Decent Extracurriculars, with involvement in family business.
i have applied to the following b-schools:
1. Kelley
2. Notre Dame ( 2 yr full time)
3. Emory( 2 yr full time)
4. Penn State
5. Durham ( Standard one yr program)
As of now i have received rejections from ND , Kelley and Durham, and I'm currently waiting to hear from Penn State and Emory.
I was recently interviewed by Penn State.
I am wondering if something went wrong with my application itself ( resume , Essays etc) or did i apply for far more ambitious bschools?
And if i were to reapply, should i write the GMAT instead of GRE?

I used to be an automotive engineer. I feel your pain when it comes to that!
Okay, so you want to know if it's a poor GRE score that's holding you back or perhaps other aspects of your application – like your essay or letters of recommendation.
I'm going to say that it's not the GRE and that it's likely that there is a problem with what you've said in your essays. when it comes to essays – especially for the schools that you have applied to - you are going to want to be as pragmatic as possible with respect to the goals, especially the short-term goals. if you were rejected without an interview at the schools you list, I'm going to guess that it was most definitely your goals. Again, I cannot know for sure as I cannot see your app, but off-the-mark goals will get you dinged on arrival.
Another possible "failure mode" I see here is that one or both of your recommenders did not write a flattering recommendation. Is either one of your recommenders a type of person that would do something like this? Did they not support your candidacy from the beginning, yet they wrote a recommendation for you? If they think you are betraying them by going to business school, they may have written something in their that didn't paint you in the right light. It happens. The tough part is you can never know for sure.
