Hello,
I was wondering how M7 schools would view a 3rd GMAT attempt from a Korean-American applicant who scored a 740 for a possible better score (since I would be considered an ORM and most likely competing against Chinese-American applicants as well).
I have been getting mixed reviews because some are saying that I should focus on other aspects of my application (like professional advancement, developing extracurriculars, etc.), but I am currently working on those other aspects. Because I have more than two years until I plan to apply, I feel that I can accommodate improving those other aspects and look to improve my GMAT.
I understand that improving my GMAT from a 740 to a 750 wouldn't be that much of a huge impact, but if that's the case:
What would be a threshold score that would make a score improvement significant; 760?

I answered your latter questions in a separate post.
The difference between a 740 to a 750 is not insignificant. I think that is a definite worthwhile endeavor. Especially for an ORM.
As long as it doesn't have any negative effects on developing other things like maybe join Toastmasters or getting a board position.
However I would not plan to tinker around with a GMAT for two years I do think it will be a pain in the butt, and possibly slow down your velocity with getting that very well needed ***leadership and impact in your extracurriculars***.
Just keep in mind that when you're an over represented minority you want to differentiate your profile so that there's less pressure on your GMAT score. If they see you as distinct from the pack then The GMAT is less of a tiebreaker.
Re GMAT. I would make a clear plan to do this in a six-week sprint, go for it and then if you need to do another six week sprint.
I would also think about what are you going to do differently this time to get a different result.
I tell people I don't like the try harder do better GMAT strategy. You need to change the inputs.

Thanks for the help and reply! You definitely cleared up some of the questions and uncertainties I've been having. I am currently taking a different approach than my previous attempts (which were basically brute force tackling OG GMAT questions) to better my score on a section by section basis, starting with the theory. It's an interesting point about taking the focus away from my GMAT score being critical; I've never considered that, but I'm definitely going to work on it.
