No problems :) Well if you can’t retake the test then follow the other two. Honestly I don’t see much of a problem if you can write about it well. A good story is extremely important for your applications, so you can include your low IR score and lower quant score in the story and talk about your impressive verbal skills. Although a counselor will be better equipped to guide you on that. :)

Good job on the AWA score and getting done with gmat ???

Hi, I wrote my GMAT today and got a score of 670 (Q43, V39). I am aiming for universities like USC Darla Moore, NCSU Poole School, Duke, Emory, etc. where my score either falls within the range of GMAT scores of those universities, or slightly higher.
However, I got a very shocking score of 2 on my IR. In all my practice tests I received an average of 5+. I have written the AWA section decently and am hoping for a score of 5.
I have a GPA of 4.0 in my UG - Bachelor of Commerce from a university in India. I am a CA finalist, waiting to give my Group 2 examination. CA is a professional course in India which is equivalent to a CPA in the US. I have 3 years of work experience at PwC in Core Assurance. (of which 2.5 years will be post grad experience by the time I get admission). I am in the accountancy field of work and hence have a quant background.
Considering all this, how would my IR score affect my application? Is it possible to reason this out in the optional essay at the time of applying to the universities? And do the admission teams give a lot of weightage to IR scores separately.

I'd think for Duke and Emory you'd need a bit of a higher overall score as an Indian applicant. Your quant score doesn't back up your overall application thesis, which paints you as a math and finance guy. Had you gotten higher on Q with a low IR, I'd say it would be fine. But both sets off a bit of a red flag.

If you are completely unable to re-take (maybe apply R2?), then you'll need a strong optional essay explaining the discrepancy in your GMAT sections and work/academic experience. I'd also expand your list of schools a bit if you haven't done so already.

Regards,
