Hello everyone,

Let me start by my schools of interest ,

I am persuing a carreer switch on the short term to work in an international consultancy ferm in Euorpe and on the long run to have my own.

I want to do my MBA IN England or belgium

1) Warwick
2) Emperial ( Tanaka)
4) Manchester
5)Vlerick leuven

I am White cucassian male from Egypt (31 years old)

My major is in Accounting with Average GPA OF 63% , Gmat : 650

I Have a total of 8 years of proffesional experience in sales and marketing ( International hotel chains - number one world wide insurance company - the only petrochemical factory in the middle east - Advertising companies)

I have many awards as best sales team manager and different record awards.I managed teams ranging from 6 to 20

I HAD a small resturant that i used to run besides my regular dautime job that is now closed.

i USED to proffesionally train karate for young children and i personally posses a black belt an won several national and regional championships.

My biggest fears are my GPA and because i had to undergo a Back surgery ( because of an old injury that i had when i was playing karate) I had to leave my job as a regional director of sales in an international hotel chain because they hired me during a change phase ( structural change) and couldn't risk three months without a director of sales.

What do you think and what do you recommend?????????

Yezz,

Your odds look good at all four of the programs you mentioned. Your GMAT is above their medians, which compensates for your GPA (I don't know quite how to translate it, but I assume a 63% is average or slightly better than average? In the U.S., a 63% means close to failing) to some extent. You have a distinctive and impressive background, both culturally and professionally, which will help you stand out. The back surgery issue doesn't seem like too much of a negative unless it means (a) you are currently out of work and have been for months, or (b) you had to take a new position that was a significant step back from the pre-surgery position. These would be negatives but not necessarily fatal. You might even apply to Oxford or LBS as longshot schools.

Thanks a lot Paul for your motivating reply.

You are right about my GPA it is like 2.3 in the american system.

I was hired by a geomarketing company as head of business development department directly after i recovered from my back surgery.

Once again thanks a lot.

I would like to draw your attention to that i tried to buy your book from England from more than one store and they can only order it for me and will arrive in a period of one month........i thought you would like to know this feed back.

Given your undergrad GPA, you might want to retake the GMAT if you think you can bump it up, just to show the schools the GPA is not indicative.
