Hi All,
Hope you are doing well.
I had a question lurking in my mind for quite some time and decided finally to ask on this forum. I wanted to uderstand how many job changes are too many changes.
I am a 2017 Grad pass out with an overall experience of 3.5 years, my professional journey is the following:
Job 1: Started my career in a typical IT firm as an associate where my overall contributions apart from regular work were to take part in several competitions and present the team portfolio during client visits. I started this Job in July 2017 and left the company in April 2019. My regular work focused on creating various business intelligence reports in the telecom domain, training newly onboarded employees, and delegating tasks to junior associates to an extent.
Job2: Joined a consulting and data analytics firm in April 2019 where I was hired as an associate to work on different business intelligence reports in the pharmaceutical domain. My regular work used to involve the end to end designing, managing, leading, and developing various business intelligence reports in the pharmaceutical domain, this involved taking critical decisions and allocating the work to junior associates and project management related activities such as budget and timelines estimates. Apart from this, my role was also to consult on several new projects for the same client as I was having the highest experience with the BI tool we were using (Qlik). Despite playing a senior/semi lead role hear I was never promoted to a senior associate stating that I have to complete at least 2.5 years in the company (they do not consider past experience for promotions except in the case of managers) before I am eligible for promotion whereas people who started their corporate journey from this firm (as a fresher) generally get promoted when they have 2 years of the overall experience, after this, I have lost interest in my daily work and started looking for a new job.
Now I have an offer from one of the most reputed companies in the world and the role offered to me is of a senior associate but the designation doesn't mention that.
Can anyone please help me if taking up a
3rd Job when the overall experience is just 3.5 years have any impact on the business school application as it may indicate instability or limited growth in a professional career as the word "senior" is not part of my designation?
The college I am planning to apply for is ISB India.
Please share your thoughts as they can be really helpful in making the decision.
Thanks.
