Hello! I have been invited to interview with NTU for MSc Asset and Wealth Management, and I need to get a few answers to be sure about how I should be approaching the interview. Firstly, there is surprisingly not much information about the NTU MSc A&W Mang. program on the internet. So, I am not being able to figure out how coveted this program is. If you can shed some light on the program's standing, it'll really help. Secondly, how should I approach this interview. It is an interview for a very specialized field, and as such, my work experience is not in pure finance or A&W management. I am a bit fidgety as to what they'll ask and what do they expect. I really need some guidance on this one. Lastly, is it possible to figure out the conversion rate of interviews-to-admits for NTU?
If you can help me figure out answers to these questions, I shall be extremely grateful.
Kind regards.
I am not aware of this program, but I can give you some general tips.
Your interviewer will try to find answers to some common questions that are related to your :
1. self awareness about career:
i. how have you done so far (walk me through your resume)
ii. what are your skills and strengths?
2. your future goals
i. both short term and long term.
ii. why are these your goals? what is the inspiration behind them. this would be important for you if you are looking for a career switch.
3. how do you expect to achieve your goals, even if your past work has been unrelated?
i. what are your transferable skills?
ii. which new skills do you need to learn?
4. how will this particular program help.
i. in continuation with 3(ii), know 3-4 specific areas of the program that satisfy these learning needs.
5. how aware are you of the was recruiting happens for people like you (career changers?).
6. what is your plan B if you don't get your first desired role?
Other than this, you should know behavioural answers on leadership, teamwork, conflict management, managing people upward, downward. Always use the STAR approach for these.
Finally- be aware of your industry. know the current trends and news.
An afternote- continue talking to students who are doing the program. Interviews are a good place to show your research about a particular program.
