Hi!
I would like ask what are the best alternatives to pursuit online courses aiming to compensate a low GPA.
I have the following alternatives into consideration:
- HBx CORe
- MBAMath
- UCLA Extension courses
- Berkeley Extension courses
Would you recommend any of these in particular? Doing a presencial course is not viable in my case because of COVID and location (I live in Chile).
A little about me. I’m 28 years old from Chile. I have over 4 years of experience in management and strategy consulting. I’ve delivered over 15 challenging and impactful projects all over Latin America, in countries such as Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador and Guatemala. I scored 730 on the GMAT (Q49, V41), hold a leadership role in my office and have an extended track record of volunteering and extracurriculars. However, my GPA is on the lower side (4.9 in a scale from 1 to 7, class rank 154 out of 335), so I am trying to do all possible to compensate.
Aiming to top 10 schools in the US.

Hello ieosorio,
Taking additional coursework (particularly quantitative courses or those related to your future field) can be a great way to improve your profile. Keeping that in mind, think about your post-MBA goals and which of the above courses may best complement these aspirations, as it is important that all components of your application fit together to tell a consistent story.
Overall, it sounds like you have a promising profile despite the low GPA. Your 730 GMAT will also outweigh the GPA score, which can be explained in the optional essays.

Hi, if you have such great management experience, I advise you to go into the gaming industry and develop there. From the view of management and administration, this is quite a promising niche for developing as a specialist. I would also like to get into this field because I know that it is very interesting to work there, and it is very profitable if you have aspirations and motivation. So far, I am taking courses from galaxy rsa to qualify, and then I will develop myself more and more as a specialist. Perhaps someday, I will be able to open my own business in this area, but so far, it is still very far from me.
