ChemEr
Hi,
I am a chemical engineer with B.Tech (batch of 2020) from India. (7.8 CGPA on a scale of 10 - equivalent to 3.5 GPA). I am currently working in a multimillion-dollar petrochemical refinery as a planning and scheduling manager (with 1 year of experience). I have to closely work with the core business group in planning and managing upcoming refinery outputs.
I would like to go to a good school in the US for MBA. I am currently preparing for GMAT and confident that I will score 700+.
Can you please guide me if my work profile will help me get into a good school or should I consider changing my work profile. Also which Business schools should I aim for.
Thanks for the help.
Hello
ChemEr,
Thanks for your query.
Your work profile alone will not determine the school you will get into; however, what you achieve through that profile is what is going to determine your chances. If you are looking to target the top 20 US business schools, aim for a score upwards of 740 on the GMAT; the higher the better.
Having said the above, your years of experience are on the lower end of the spectrum; if possible, we would suggest that you wait for a couple of years being applying.
All the best!
