Hi
beatthegmat05,
Thank you for your post. I would be curious to know about your undergraduate GPA, as this will have an impact on your target GMAT score. Naturally, GMAT scores also have a bearing on the programs you should consider.
From what you have shared, it sounds like you have had some strong professional experience. Since you are looking to make the switch from product management to finance, you will need to put in some extra work to show that your desired career is both authentic and attainable.
Personal MBA Coach suggests doing your research to gain a better understanding of the role that you aspire to join and the skills required for success. All too often we read vague goals statements that show a candidate does not really know his future industry. Check LinkedIn to see where MBA graduates are going and talk to friends or former classmates who work in the space. Understand the industry’s career pathing. The more you know about your future industry, the more authentic your essays will sound as you begin to articulate your goals. (Goal development is a key component of our
comprehensive packages and we would be happy to help provide guidance here.)
Do you have any extracurricular activities on your resume? These are another great way to show leadership outside of your professional role.
Feel free to send a note to
[email protected] to continue the conversation. We help a lot of folks communicate their desire for a career change without losing cohesion in their applications!
Best,
Personal MBA Coach beatthegmat05
