- Work experience: 4 years. 2+ years as a backend developer in an MNC and currently working as an AWS cloud developer in a new organization as a Senior Analyst.
- Extracurriculars: Participated in multiple inter-district classical dance competitions. Trained in traditional dance forms for 10+ years.
- Undergrad CGPA: Tier 3 school, CGPA - 7.2/10, major - Electrical Engineering
- Nationality: Indian
- Sex: Female
Score:
- GMAT - 660 Q46 V35
- Undergrad - 7.2
MBA Goals:
- Currently working as a developer and I would like to use my knowledge to work as a product Manager in IT. I believe with the help of an MBA and my technical knowledge, I can undertake this role by starting over as an Associate Product Manager, managing a small part of a big product.
- Target schools: With my current score, I am planning to apply to European and Canadian schools - RotterdamSchool of Management, Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, Warwick Business school, Edinburgh School of Business, and Schulich school of business.
- I am planning to take a retake but have not yet decided. I also want to apply to Mannheim Business School, Imperial College, and Desautels Faculty of Management. I am not sure whether I can make it into these schools with my current profile.
- I feel with my score I won't be eligible for a good American school but If anyone feels otherwise please don't hesitate to share.

With your background, current GMAT, and ECs, you may have a good chance with some top Canadian Programs including Schulich. Rotterdam & Frankfurt may themselves not be great for your career goals, though you have a high chance of Scholarship with Warwick. As for the others named, not only can you make it into these schools, but also they are well within your targets, with scholarships too.

Considering your years of experience, American and Canadian programs would be more suited to your profile and not the UK and European programs as they, generally, prefer higher years of experience.

While we would definitely recommend that you retake the GMAT (especially because you are also considering it), you may stand a chance at some US programs - not the top league but competitive ones for sure.

However, to make your profile more robust, I would suggest adding a tad more about your overall statistics and information about any additional courses, certifications, and academic accolades. Coming to the work front, four years of work experience seems relevant. However, belonging to an overrepresented pool of candidates, you must display splendid leadership qualities, creativity, integrity, and global awareness! Moreover, you should highlight roles and responsibilities associated with your work, projects led, revenue generated, and key achievements attained, as It would be a key factor for you to display exceptional qualities to compensate for the few extra points in your GMAT score.

Coming to your ECAs, sure, mentioning specific achievements in your 10+ years of classical dancing would explore new horizons for you to start an interesting conversation with the adcom; however, It would also help to highlight your social contributions to varying aspects of social causes, as they help build important characteristics of overall development. Talking about your post-MBA goals, it’s very well described and sounds reasonable enough. I must say I am impressed by the clarity you have regarding your career trajectory post-MBA and how you will transition and advance onto the new path one step at a time. I feel you have been quite strategic about your selection of MBA programs, which is great.

RSM in particular is a good option due to its strategic location in the vicinity of the Amsterdam tech hub (which is anyway a top target area for non-native speakers/internationals from most MBA schools in the EU). This will give you an added advantage in pursuing your goals. Adding Mannheim could be a great idea too if you want to further explore opportunities in Germany (tech consulting, auto, manufacturing). There is a strong chance that you will be able to break into Amazon PM roles from any of these schools. Geographical proximity to German tech hubs such as Munich and Berlin is a plus. A GMAT retake might be worth it if you want to give serious consideration to the mid-top tier of US and Canadian schools. Getting your quant to a 49+ level will add a lot of value to your profile. In parallel you may evaluate your verbal aptitude and identify areas that will help you get the desired improvement the fastest.
