Hi All, I am from India and I just attempted GMAT for the 1st time and got 640(Q47, V31). I have 10 years of experience in automobile sector out of which 7 years I spent in International Business ( was based out of Africa for 6 years). My educational qualifications are as follows- X( ICSE) -93.17%, XII (ISC)- 91.7%, B.Tech. - 8.76 ( Mech Engg. , NIT). Can anyone please suggest me good college options with this profile & score in India and Abroad. Thanks a lot.

Hi HardikSahni2502,

Considering you have only attempted the test once, we would strongly recommend that you work on retaking the test and improving your score. Further, European schools are what you should be targetting since your years of experience are on the higher side for other geographies such as USA and Canada.

The choice of schools will also depend on your career goals. However, for now, you should be focusing on the GMAT!

All the best!

Thanks. It's in various roles covering whole of West Africa with certain amount of leadership role & contribution to public transportation.

Which resources are good if I want to retake the exam within 2 months.

HardikSahni2502,
Your WorkEx on the higher side, lowers your chances at admissions; the low GMAT, lowers it further, more so for Indian, Male, Engineers.
While the high exposure will work in your favour,

You may be able to score better on an EA, without putting in that much of prep. An outstanding EA may help you to some of the top schools as well.

Is EA acceptable for regular MBA. I don't want to do Executive MBA.

Yes, many more than you think... including some from top 10.

Aim for 720 + in GMAT. Work on verbal more.
Look at Princeton review book for a foundation and then practise as many tests as you can from various sources.

Hello HardikSahni2502,

While your GMAT is on the lower end of the spectrum as far as the premium Business schools of India, you still can have a realistic shot at some of the programs by articulating your deep subject matter expertise in the automobile sector, international work experience, and strong undergrad pedigree.

As an ISB alum and admissions consultant, I will encourage you to definitely apply to ISB PGP and Full time 01-year Executive MBA programs of IIM B & L. Note: A and C will mostly filter you out in their initial screening due to the low GMAT.

Do note that you will have to really outshine your application (Essays/SOP/LOR/Application form) and convey how you will add value to the cohort to grab the attention of the admission committee.

Reach out to me if you seek professional guidance on the way forward.

Wishing you the very best!
