Hi everyone,
I seek help from the experts in the MBA community. I have been preparing for the GRE for some time and scored a meagre 301 (unofficial Q152 v149) in my second stab at the test. My first attempt resulted in a 298 (Q154 V144).
At this point, I'm pretty saturated with test prep and distraught. I'm unsure if I can spend any time further with these standardised tests, to be honest. I'm not entirely dumb, but my confidence shatters every time I try to attempt standardized tests. And the worst part is, unlike the majority Indian audience, I'm not very great at Math. (Opted to IT after 10th grade and studied Accounting, Economics and Business with IT).
I'm looking for some MBA programs that I can apply to with the 301. Here's my profile:
- Indian. Male. 24yo.
Not an Engineer.
- Graduated with a Bachelor's in Business Administration (BBA, 3-year course), with a minor in Technology from a top private Indian University, Symbiosis International University.
- Final semester GPA 8.75/10 (Top 5% of the class), graduated with an aggregate of 8.02/10 (Top 10% of the class). Aggregate roughly translates to 3.4/4, as per the US conversion scale.
- Working at a big US Hedge Fund's India office ($60BN dollars AUM) as IT Systems Administrator/ DevOps for 38 months (as of September 2022).
- The organization is a major B-School feeder with alums from the top B-Schools across the globe.
- I've been active in co-curricular tasks where I held several leadership titles, organized fests and received several accolades for my duties.
- I have moderate NGO experience, with an active member in DEI initiatives (both as a student and a working professional).
- Managing small teams of 3-5 on different initiatives and have been a stellar performer.

Career goals: Working in the technology industry. Short-term: Product Manager/Tech Consulting. Long-term: Get into VC circles and help build startups after relevant experience in the industry.
--
B-School preference: Should be able a regular feeder to the tech industry. So, tech-enabled programs are something I prefer. (Example: NYU Stern etc).
I doubt that I stand any chance in the top US schools?
I really liked the three Singapore B-Schools (NUS, NTU and CMU). Do I stand a chance?

Possible problems with my profile:
- Low GRE score.
- International experience is quite low, owing to the pandemic and travel restrictions. I started my professional career 7 months before the pandemic hit.
Any help would be appreciated and I'm happy to add whatever information I can add on to help the experts.
Thanks, and best regards.
