Hey
DebdootGMAT,
Thanks for sharing your profile. Your profile looks good on the surface. To begin with, 700 is a decent GMAT score. (However, it depends on the schools you are targeting.)
On the work front, your 5 years of work experience in the energy sector, should establish your work profile with examples of leadership and demonstrate yourself as a team player. An amazing profile is built, including various parameters like work accomplishments, letters of recommendation, ECs, and your post-MBA goals.
We would like to know your detailed profile in order to narrow down schools for you. We have recently helped one of our applicants to get into CBS, Yale, NYU and Fuqua that too with scholarships.
Ms. Oil & Gas Engineer (Columbia, Yale, NYU, Fuqua- 40k $ scholarship). She was also from the Oil and Gas industry. You can also read an article on
MBA for Oil and Gas professionals. What are your post-mba goals? Are you looking for a career switch? Many of our clients, who are from the industry, are seeking a career in the consulting industry. McKinsey, Bain, BCG (MBB), and other top consulting firms hire in bulk from top-notch business schools. And without an MBA, it is very difficult to crack this industry. Add to this the fact that most consulting employers consider oil and gas professionals to be very valuable owing to their exposure to scale, process management, and quality. If you want to pursue MBA in Oil & Gas, then you can apply to Haas, Kennan Flager, Rice University, and Imperial.
Overall you have a great profile and stand a good chance at top schools if properly worked. If you'd like, we are happy to connect you with our
Profile Experts (who are alums and students of top B-Schools) who will discuss your profile at length in a 30-45 minutes call and provide you with feedback based on your aspirations, goals and shortlist schools for you. Feel free to schedule a call with us
here for in-depth profile evaluation (and some networking on the side!)
No one knows the application process better than the individuals who have gone through it. We match you with alumni from your desired business school.
Meet our Panel of Consultants. Let's discuss with Alums to set up your R2 MBA applicationsCheers!
