Dear Admissions Consultant
I want to know what is the difference between pursue in MBA and Master in Supply Chain? When one should pursue MBA degree or when one should pursue Master in supply chain?
Hi
adyg14 hope this finds you well
To put it simply, you should pursue a master's in supply chain if you are passionate about the intricacies of supply chain and operations design, a field that is constantly evolving and requires exceptionally strong analytical skills. A solid foundation in operations is a highly valued distinction in today's environment, where most companies are focused on growth while streamlining operational costs.
In an MBA program, on the other hand, Supply Chain is only touched on superficially, but you can certainly take electives in Supply Chain and Ops if that is your area of interest. I specialized in Operations, but I did an MBA because it gave me the flexibility to move in and out of Operations. I have also worked in marketing roles. The opportunities after a Master's in Supply Chain at a prestigious school are not very different from an MBA with electives in Operations. However, an MBA offers more flexibility if you want to move into a different role every few years.
Best wishes
