Hi. You can pick either test. I would just check with the programs of your choice to make sure they except it. I’m pretty sure most of those programs do but do you want to make sure just to be safe.

You are correct in your assessment that the jury favors more people who are stronger in verbal and weaker in quant. In general, Jerry is less competitive because many of the Masters candidates take it without lofty goals but while you may get higher percentiles, it will be a competitive pool within top masters programs. Either way you will need to aim for a fairly high score, especially if you are undergrad institution on grades Are less than perfect.

Ravr02 If the schools you are targeting accept both GRE and GMAT, you can take either test based on your convenience. There is no bias/discrimination based on the test you take. Your profile and submissions are evaluated holistically and test score is a small part of the overall process. In terms of the content, the GRE does have a slightly easier quantitative section compared to the GMAT. So, if you are struggling with the quant section and have a good vocabulary/can easily learn 1000+ words, you may find the GRE more manageable. Please also keep in mind that the GMAT quant section is still doable with proper preparation and practice. It isn't too complex. If your goal is to get into consulting or a field that demands analytical skills, you will be better off taking the GMAT. Although GMAT is primarily used in the business school application process and the GRE is generally used for graduate majors, there are many programs that independently give an option to the applicants to choose an option. If you are luckily being given the option to pick an option, make sure that you choose one that you can master more conveniently.

GRE test is required for admissions to most graduate schools as well as the growing number of business schools across the nation. GMAT tests are required for admissions to most business schools specifically. Both tests have the same duration for the test and are computer-adaptive for 5 years of validity.

However, the best way to choose one out of these two depends on your abilities and the amount of hard work you put in for each exam. Getting into any business school is competitive so do a full-on preparation to give your best.

Most schools don't prefer the GMAT over the GRE. You can take the GRE, and a good way to choose among them may to take a mock test, but not just to judge on the basis of the score you get. You can also see which exam you are more comfortable with. Other factors to consider: 
- As you mentioned, the GRE generally has easier quant sections and a greater emphasis on vocabulary in the verbal sections. If you're stronger in verbal and find quant more challenging, the GRE might be a better fit for you.
- While some business schools may have a slight preference for the GMAT due to its focus on management-related skills, many top MiM programs accept both tests and do not have a strong preference for one over the other. 
- If you're considering applying to other graduate programs outside of business (e.g., public policy, international relations, etc.), the GRE might be more versatile, as it is accepted by a wider range of programs across various disciplines. This is a common reason why many people applying for the MiM take the GRE as well.
