Hi Paul,
I have 8 years of diverse media experience - publishing, digital and television. Have also been a casting director/judge on a hit MTV reality show. (While on the job, i was a 'slightly' less nasty version of Simon Cowell.)
30 yrs, am an engineer (by qualification, 3.1 GPA) turned writer turned producer turned marketing manager.
Plenty of cross functional leadership experience.
Long standing -- soccer player, volunteer with 2 community based organizations & a mentoring experience with the church youth group.
My clear objective - was media and is media.
My top choices were - 1. Stern – EMT specialization is a perfect fit. 2. Anderson (media specialization).
And Tuck was the dream Ivey league school. Till the d*#n 600 GMAT score happened. No time to retake now.
Irrespective of the GMAT score, I sent in the Stern R2 application. Looked substantial and creative (according to me and some friends). But took so much time amidst the crazy scene at work, that i missed the R3 deadlines of the rest.
Request your help:
1. Need to look at other schools besides the super league Stern to spread my chances. Plan to send in Kelley next before the R2 deadline.
Which other schools would you recommend - a mix of 'near elite schools' and ones above it?
2. Any schools based in NYC/LA (wherever the media is close-by to network)?
3. I’m also interested in a general Mgmt. or marketing specialization.
4. As an international applicant does crossing the Jan deadline and going into R3 make any sense?
Tx for reading. God bless.
