Hi, would appreciate some advice!
My intention is to submit my application to business school during either the first or second round this year. I have been at my current position for about 9 months now, and recently received an offer from a different company. Although the job title is of a lower rank, the work aligns with a field that I am wholeheartedly enthusiastic about pursuing, and it is a unique chance. I am curious to know the extent to which it might be considered taboo to switch workplaces in such proximity to admission deadlines, or whether it would be more prudent to try and postpone such a change until after the interview process has concluded.

I don’t want to steal the thunder from personal MBA coach, and I’m actually very curious about their take on it.
I would say your main concern would be getting a decent letter of recommendation. At the same time, you don’t know if you will get excepted or even if you do get excepted, if you will end up going to business school in a year and three months from now. So I think it would make sense to live your life and plan ahead with the best outlook towards the career.
Other considerations include making sure you have a good relationship with your current boss so you get a recommendation from them. Also, if your résumé is choppy and you are moving a lot, it can raise questions but I feel you can potentially address them through the application or in an optional essay if there’s no other opportunity to do that.
PS. Curious what PMC would recommend 😇
