Mechanical Engineering: 9.43CGPA or 83% (ranked within top 3 throughout engineering)
Completed mechanical Engineering in 2020 from Savitribai Phule Pune University, India
Work-ex
2 years 11 Months in family business (since June 2020). We work in printing industry and cater big giants like LnT, Sun Pharma, C.G. Power. I am currently working as Associate manager for Industrial Label printing department. I undertook various projects and helped grow business revenue by 30%. Also implemented new technology and Lean Manufacturing in the company. Worked in domain of operations and industrial engineering.
Academic Achievements
1. Stood in top 3 ranks throughout engineering.
2. Runner-up at Smart India Hackathon in 2019, solved problem statement given by Adani group of Industries.
3. Stood in top 10 in 10th Examination
4. Secured 99.93%le in MBA CET 2022 and stood 64th among 1 lakh students.
5. Received offer letter from multiple top IIMs in 2022 after securing 98.57%le in CAT 2021
Extra Curricular
1. Headed National Level Auto Exhibition.
2. Volunteered in NGO aashmaan.
3. Won Silver medal in state level Kayaking competition.

Overall, in the time that remains, your biggest focus should be on the GMAT (if not done already of course). Other than that, double down on your ECs and pretty soon, you have to start your application work. Not a lot you can do since the time is to present/package what you have in the best possible manner.

- The academic arc looks alright and your undergrad has some pedigree recall over the last few years - have you had peers/seniors make it to your target bschools in the recent past? The strong GPA helps. When is your GMAT planned and what are you hoping to score?
- The professional profile is interesting since family business work can be quite enriching and empowering. Read the blog to also understand how it comes with its set of challenges. What are your post-MBA plans?
- The ECs sound encouraging though you'd have to bring out impact and whether anything currently ongoing.
- CFA does help for MBA. However, it should be done keeping your broader career plans in sight, not just for the application sake.

Hi Omkar712,
Just to let you know - your schools results don't have much significance in the MBA application process, unless you are applying to Indian MBA programs.
Your work experience sounds good. Sometimes when you are working in a family venture, it can be difficult to show career growth and achievements. So, when you construct your resume, you should make it a point to demonstrate both. Also, you will need recommenders from outside the family- so you should be thinking of the people you can ask to be your recommenders. They can be people such as vendors and clients, but they should know you closely enough to make a solid case for you.
It seems like a lot of your extra curricular activities are from college and maybe even earlier. In addition to these. b-schools want to know of more recent pursuits - so you should also bring to light the ECAs you have participated in since after college. If you don't have much to show on this front, you should take something up now and contribute meaningfully to it. If by chance you have to push your applications to next year, you should continue building upon this aspect of your profile so that you have sizeable ECAs to show.
If you are only in the planning stage for the research paper, then I wonder if it would be the best utilization of your time for the following months. If you are doing this solely for the MBA applications, then my opinion is, its not going to add much value and you may as well do something more relevant for MBA admissions (if you also have a technical MS degree on your mind, then this advice may change)
