Hey
lucasba33,
Thanks for sharing your profile.
Your profile looks good on the surface. Coming to your academics, graduating from a top local university in law demonstrates your academic capabilities. While you mentioned being slightly above average in the class, it's still a valuable degree that provides a solid foundation for your future endeavors. Your GMAT score of 730 (Q49/V41, IR 8, AWA 5) is already quite strong. A score of 750 might slightly enhance your profile, but keep in mind that the GMAT is just one component of your application, and your overall profile is well-rounded.
Having 8 years of work experience is impressive. Your experience in law-related jobs and as a product manager adds depth and versatility to your profile. Additionally, being a member of the founding team of a venture capital (VC)-invested company, assuming a leadership role, and being involved from the beginning showcases your entrepreneurial spirit and initiative.
Speaking about your ECs, your involvement as an assistant to two professors, basketball team captain, and university all-team runner shows your leadership, teamwork, and time management skills. These activities highlight your ability to balance academics and extracurricular commitments.
Considering your profile, here are a few schools you could consider:
1. Harvard Business School
2. Stanford Graduate School of Business
3. The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania
4. MIT Sloan School of Management
5. Columbia Business School
6. London Business School
7. INSEAD
8. University of Chicago Booth School of Business
These schools are known for their strong MBA programs and are highly regarded globally. However, it's essential to thoroughly research each school, understand their values, curriculum, and fit with your future goals before making a decision.
Overall your profile looks impressive and stands a good chance at the top B-schools. Remember, your profile is not solely defined by your academic and professional achievements. Your essays, letters of recommendation, and interview performance will also play crucial roles in the admissions process.

Hi,
I am a Brazilian male, 27 years old.
Graduated in law in a top local university. Slightly above average in class and with some extracurricular activities such as being assistant to two professors, basketball team captain and runner for the university all-team.
I have 8 years of work experience, 5 in law related jobs and 3 as a product manager. I am member of the founding team of a vc invested company (second worker after the 2 founders, leadership role since the beginning, already working there on our first ever contract, before seed and series A).
After the mba I plan to pay the debt and start my own company.
Took the gmat last week, my official score is 730 (Q49/V41, IR 8, awa 5).
I honestly think I can score better on the gmat. Would a 750 make a difference for my profile? Which schools I should look for? Which admissions consulting firms I should look more into?
Thanks!
