Education: B.Tech ( Mechanical Engineering, grade 4.5/5) from India, M.Tech ( Mechanical Engineering, grade 8.6/10) from IIT, India, PhD ( Control Engineering, planed graduation 2008), from Norway
Age: 30 years
Work Experience : 4 years in GE Research Centre, Bangalore, India
GMAT: 690 ( Q 49, V 35, AWA 4.5) Second attempt
640 ( Q 49, V 28, AWA 4.5), 1st Attempt
Leadership:
1) Led a project having 4 team member during my work at GE
2) President of Indian Student Forum at my current Univeristy
3) Vice-Captain of University of Volleyball team during my Undergrad
Community service:
1) During my work at GE, I was a member of ELFUN, GE's social branch. Actively participated in all events esp to help and educate deaf children
2) Generated money for Tsunami vicitms by organizing Indian film fesitval at my current University.
Plan for MBA:
Apply for 2008 class
I will be 32 year old at the time of admission, if I get through.
Interest : Consulting ( based on diverse engineering background and interest)
Questions:
1) Do I need to improve my GMAT Score for top 10 school? I heard that an Indian IT guy require higher GMAT score. I am Indian but not in IT area.
2) With current score and profile do I stand a chance in top 10 school? I am aiming at LBS, INSEAD and IMD in Europe and Wharton, HBS, GSB, MIT and Stern in US.
3) What other schools do you recommend for me to apply?
