- Demographics: 27 year-old white male from US.
- Work Experience:
- 5 years in healthcare technology. Solid track record of promotion, but frequently interrupted by layoffs (not performance based.)
- Started on an engineering track, and then shifted into product management (most recent role.)
- Currently unemployed. Laid off earlier this year due to downsizing. Took time to reassess and travel internationally. Have since been very selective with job opportunities.
- Academics: 3.36 GPA from large public business school (good but not elite.) Studied information systems and marketing.
- GMAT: 730 (46Q, 44V, 8IR, 6AWA)
- EC: Current board member for hometown edu focused non-profit. Former president of undergraduate business club with 50+ members.
- Target schools: HBS, Wharton, Kellogg, CBS, NYU Stern, Duke Fuqua, Michigan Ross, UCLA Anderson
Questions:
1. What are my current odds of being accepted? (H/S/W vs Other M7 vs T15)
2. How would those odds change given the below adjustments to my profile?:
a. Hoping to increase GMAT score to 750+ (i.e. improve to Q48+)
b. Likely will be employed in a product management position prior to submitting applications

Thank you for the post and best of luck recruiting. It is a tricky period for sure!!
1. Currently from what we see M7 doesn't look great. Your GPA is low and your test score is average but below average for a white male (unfortunately we do have to say this) including a low quant score. T15 this would be more competitive. Also not being employed will count against you. We have a lot of clients not working, but it is harder for them. So currently 3 dings against you if that makes sense. Would you be open to improving the score? We have the best tutors around and would be happy to discuss this further.
2. 49+ should be the target and then M7 becomes in range! Getting a job will also help quite a bit. So it sounds like you are on the right track!!
