Hello Origo,

Please note that I have mentioned Kellogg 1 Year Accelerated MBA program and not the 2 year program. This program is for people with more than 7-8 years of experience.

INSEAD also entertains people with higher years of experience.

On the other hand, Canadian programs like Schulich, HEC Montreal etc. are NOT worth it considering your current pedigree and for Rotman and Richard Ivey, your higher years of experience will be a bottleneck. However, if you have try your luck in Canada, only Richard Ivey is a decent bet.

Note that IMD Switzerland is a great option to consider and I have worked with multiple applicants who have done a double MBA from IMD and now doing really well in their careers.

Hope this answers your questions .

Cheers and all the best !

Hello,

Request your guidance & help to suggest if I have any chances of getting accepted at B Schools in Canada/ UK/ USA for a 1 Year program:

Age: 38 years
Background: IIT Bombay (B tech-2009), IIM K (MBA- 2014).
Profile: Worked in Tata Steel in supply chain, reached Senior Manager position.
Changed job & now working as Country Supply Chain Manager at a French Pharma multinational.
Leading few major high impact global projects in current role, reporting to Global Heads.
GMAT: Last test given I had scored 680, planned for another test in Dec.
Extracurriculars: Led E Cell, Placecom at IIT Bombay, Alumni committee at IIM K
No major awards/ achievements except for few certificates here & there.

Side hustles:
Started an Ed Tech venture, bootstrapped (unregistered, <50 customers, wound up in 6 months)
Have a Youtube channel on children entertainment (~300 subscribers)
No loans as of now. But single earning member in family

With my background can you please suggest:
1) With this profile if I will be able to get into a good college?
2) Which B Schools may consider me at this age & level of experience?
3) Should I opt for MS in Supply Chain courses instead of 1 year MBA?

My targets are to move abroad, increase pay & pursue entrepreneurship in 3-5 years from now wherever I settle.
Thanks

Hello Origo,

Apologies for the delayed response but we hope this finds you in time still.

You should look at 1-year MBA programs in the USA; most of these programs even prefer candidates with prior management education; Canadian programs (barring some such as John Molson) generally prefer those with lower years of experience; hence, Canada, as a geography, will not be suitable for you.

In addition to the above, you could target some Spanish, German, and Swiss programs.

Our suggestion will be to write to all schools and have your profile evaluated with regard to your age, years of experience, and prior management degree. Suggesting why you need an MBA at this point in your career will also be crucial in determining your chances of success.

Whether you should pursue a Master's in Supply Chain completely depends on your career goals; if your career goals are in sync with the strengths of such a program, you may absolutely give those a shot as well.

Hope this helps.

All the best!
