Hi can you please evaluate my profile. Like other posters of recent i have a low undergrad gpa 2.77 in economics from a top state school (UVA). My low grades are partly due to working almost full time and youthful immaturity. I am also a member of a lesser represented minority (african american). Though i'm not sure how much this would help my chances.
Since graduation i've worked in brand management for the past 4 years with promotions almost every year. I left my firm last year to go work with my boss who started his own research firm to help him grow it from scratch. We now have 2 offices and 10+ people, of which i am the third most senior person at the firm. My interest in brand management is what leads me to pursuing an mba from Kelley. Other top schools i am interested in are UNC, Emory, Texas Mccombs. My goal post mba is to get back into brand management on the corporate side at a firm like P&G or Frito Lay.
I'm about to start taking some quantitative classes to provide an alternative transcript at a local community college. Right now i've taken Calculus and Accounting and earned A's in both. My GMAT is a 700.
My question is which scenaio puts me in better competitive standing? Should i take another course (statistics) and delay to round 2 or have my 2 classes been enough to show marked improvement and apply in round 1?
Sorry for the long winded response but coming full circle, can you please evaluate my chances at mba programs such as UNC, Emory, Mccombs? And which option i should go for. Round 1 and no more classes or round 2 and 1 more class.
Thank you for your time.
