GMAT FE - 705
Background - Final year law student at best law school in India.
Academics - 3.5/7.0 cgpa (up until 14th trim of 15th)
- i took a gap of 2 years during covid from studies due to health reasons and graduating in 7 years instead of 5.
- i have lot of repeats on my transcript ( this is wherein i decided to take a certain component of a subject later and didnt fail necessarily) and few re registration ( courses i failed) and one F which i still need to clear in my last trim.
-my gpa for last three trimester has been 4.8 and i have had no repeat or anything in them.
majorly the reason for this is that my college has a trimester system and also have multiple components for a subject and people do often repeat certain components when they have clashing engagement outside the classroom.
I also did the same. Can see in my profile.
will talk in my additional essay about this and how with time i have gotten better at dealing with commitments and balancing.
Internship experience -
- 2 internships with tier 1 indian corporate law firms in their M&A PE and VC advisory team
- 2 internship with start ups where in I helped them in raising investments and regulatory work. ( one small cosmetic consumer brand with sales of 1cr around, one fast food restaurant chain with 15 outlets currently)
- Internship with Supreme court judge
-Internship with a commercial law chamber at supreme court worked in areas such as insolvency and bankruptcy and contractual disputes.
-internship with Advocate general of state
- 5 internship with lawyers at trial and high court including National company law tribunal
(may get an internship with a small tier investment bank before application)
Research/ publication experience -
- 2 blogs published in two reputed indian law journals web blog.
- research and editorial intern to visiting faculty of Columbia for a book published by Thomson Reuters on sports law in India.
- research assistant on a project on animal rights by an NGO.
Co-curricular experience -
Rank 5 and Rank 21 in two seperate edition of International Chamber of Commerce's International mediation competition held in paris. ( out of 64 international law school teams)

Post MIM goals - M&A or PE VC, already have experience in this field, i feel my law background adds to my skillset, I want to get a MIM so that i adds up both basic management education and specialised finance education from my M2 Year.

You have very strong overall candidature - strong GMAT score, differentiated background, and decent extra-curricular engagements. The only thing not working in your favour is the fact that it is a later round; that said, a set of compelling essays that aptly demonstrate your strengths and showcase a logical need for the MiM will give you a good chance.
To be honest, when you are applying in later rounds as an international candidate, there is a lot that one cannot predict; however, we believe that the rest of your profile is worthy enough for you to give this a shot.
