Hi Paul,
Another request for profile evaluation

GMAT: 700
Undergrad GPA: 3.8
Grad GPA: 3.81
Work Ex: 3 years at Matriculation . I am a biomedical researcher working at one of the top two hospitals in the US.
Other/Ex: Co-ordinate a US based charity organization in India, Elected member of regional district toastmasters and also have my own healthcare company back in India.
Post-MBA plans: Want to get in to Pharmacuetical/Biotech Supply chain consulting.
Target Schools:
MIT
Kellogg
U Chicago
Michigan
Columbia
NYU

Looking forward to your advice.

Thanks,

Vijay

Vijay,

Good profile. The only issue I see is the biomedical researcher background. Schools want to see leadership so they will expect you to show them that you do more than sit in a lab all day experimenting (to put it crudely). Show them team leadership, impact, bigger-picture initiatives if possible. This is where your company in India can help you. I recommend that you make that company "real" to the adcoms with details, stories, facts. Show them that it has exposed you to business issues. If you do that then you I think you could be competitive at the schools you mentioned, with Columbia and Kellogg being less doable perhaps than MIT and Chicago and odds probably best at Michigan and NYU.

Good luck,

Thanks for your inputs Paul, I will work on putting my experience in setting up business in a transparent manner. By the way, the company is "Real" and I am one of the listed directors.

You're welcome.
