Thanks Mr. Bodine!

Thank you for your feedback, it answered many of my questions. I know I'm young but at the time of my application I will have 2.5 years experience (1.5 years in the US, one year in India). Is that enough to offset my youth? Also forgot to add 2 extra-curriculars: I'm volunteering at a spastic society, and training for the Tough Guy challenge toughguy.co.uk (it looks crazy but a friend who did last year said it was a blast).

Ideally I would like to visit the schools you've listed but I'm in India. I am planning on contacting the admissions dept. and ask them to put me in touch with an alumnus in India. I am excited about attending all the schools on my list: Wharton, MIT, Haas, Chicago, Duke, and Ross but won't be back in the US until late December. Is speaking with the adcoms, and an alumnus oversees enough to demonstrate interest? Thank you again for your invaluable advice.

shmegs,

2.5 years of work experience will still be on the low side at most schools, but then again they do welcome young applicants who are exceptional. You will still be considered a younger applicant so you will want your stories to show that you have already done as much as older applicants.

Schools will cut you some slack because of your distance. I do think talking to adcoms and overseas alumni will be enough, but be aggressive about that. I.e., talk to as many alumni as you can. Really build a network.

Good luck,
