Work Experience:
I have a pretty broad set of work experience. I've worked in Japan for about 11 months after college teaching Conversation English.
I started my career after garduate school with consulting as a business consultant for a little over a year. Then I transitioned into product marketing in the tech industry.
My current position is focused on business development and strategic marketing where I am managing a new business unit to establish and to drive our marketing team to meet projected quarterly goals.
Extracurricular Activities:
I do have a bunch of extracurricular activities all the way from my days in college.
I used to be a peer counselor at the University Admissions office for the ENG dept. I was also a student body representative for my particular department to address changes in core curriculums or coursework scheduling and planning revisions.
I currently act as a Communications Chair for my graduate Alumni House Network committee and on the side, I volunteer on weekends around my immediate neigborhood and through local non-profit organizations.
Long term and short term goals:
I think i'm at a juncture in my career where I know I can definitely elevate my professional skillset and professional growth with a strong business framework. Also, I think there are a lot of abstract approaches to high level problem resolution which i would like to better understand rather than just learn by the seat of my pants.
My long term goal is to pursue an opportunity to establish a financial service company focusing on emerging markets and technologies in the developing Asia regions. My plan is to obtain an mba, step through WS with experience in a leading IB bank for 3-4years and then transition into Asia for greater regional exposure and depth.
My Options:
Yale SOM
Cornell
NYU
Any insight is greatly appreciated.
