Hi Paul,

To improve my chances, I took GMAT again. There has been improvement in the score but not sure if this is sufficient to make the cut.
This time I scored 680(Q49 V33) and AWA5.5. The previous score was 640(Q49 V27) and AWA5.0.

Post MBA, I want to move into startegy consulting. Based on my profile, can you pls suggest few good schools?

Btw, I have just bought your book on application essays. I am in the process of going through it and so far I have found book as great assest.

I am adding some more information in addition to earlier mentioned.

I have good acad and there has been steady growth in responsibilites. Moving from software engineer to program manager in period of about 9 years. Have worked for 5 years in Europe(multiple countries-Germany,Sweden,Denmark,UK and Belgium) and 1.5 years in US. So I have good cross-cultural experience. I learnt german when working in Germany.

I don't have lot of community involvement except few trips to educate villagers and few more small involvements. However, I am closely attached to graduation college and have helped in enhacning college placement and also participated in improving the curriculum. That involvement is continous.

I do have lot of personal challeges to write about because of being first in family on most of the educational achievement and financial challeges.
Also can write about few interesting cultural challenges based on my extensive travel.

Pls suggest.

Thanks in advance.

N750,

Congratulations on the 680. IMO, it puts you in the running at schools like Yale and perhaps Oxford. Your program manager responsibilities and your broad experience in Europe are your strongest suits so I recommend you play them to the hilt. Given your goals and new GMAT I think you have a decent chance at the following schools: Yale, Michigan, Virginia, MIT Sloan (<--long shots); Emory, Georgetown, HEC Paris, Indiana, UNC, USC.

Hope this helps,

N750,

I apologize for the long delay in replying to you. The first-round deadlines really swamped me and I'm just now coming up for air. If you'd like to email me directly my email address is [email protected] and my phone number is 949-589-1031.

Thanks,
