Please evaluate my chances of admittance to the following: MIT, Michigan, Yale, Chicago-(Part Time), Toronto-Rotman...
GMAT : 730
Nationality : Turkish (US Permanent resident)
Undergrad : B.Sc. Civil Engineering 2.70, top school Istanbul-Turkey , last semester GPA is 3.15.
Male , 33 years old
Work Experience:
7 years as a financial analyst in Illinois' top insurer. Started as a temp, hired as an analyst now am a senior analyst. I personally am responsible of formulating, calculating and allowing $60Million per year to hospitals which perform above expectations. I deal with 80+ hospitals.
I work with cross departmental teams of managers and directors on the quality assesment initiative. I am responsible of developing, explaining the method and streamlining the efforts of different departments for the end product.
Extracurricular :
-Volunteer Team Leader - Director of Hospitality Security (oversaw 10+ people) for the Chicago Marathon - 2006,2007
-Volunteer Team Leader - Director of Hospitality Security (oversaw 10+ people) - Chicago Distance Classic - 2006,2007
-Volunteer - Hospitality Security - Chicago Marathon 2005
-Advisory Board Member for the up and coming Chicago Baseball Museum. Responsible of projecting, calculating financial statements.
-1 of the 20 moderators of a 100,000 member photography website
Miscellaneous :
-I speak 3 languages : Turkish, English, German
-Worked in Germany, Turkey and USA
Goal :
To work for a large consulting company in a multi-national setting where my personal and analytical skills can be fully utilized. I believe my extensive travels during my early career, language skills and understanding of European, North American and Middle-Eastern cultures will be of paramount help for this goal.
Two final questions :
1)Does being Turkish constitute an advantage or a disadvantage? There are very few Turkish students in the schools I've mentioned. (From 1 to 3 per school)
2)Is my age a show-stopper even if I have a strong and reasonable explanation?

Manylander,
Very strong profile: excellent numbers (except GPA but with a 760 GMAT who cares?), very good leadership and distinctive career path, strong to excellent extracurriculars, and good 'diversity' profile. Yes, being Turkish is a real asset; it is underrepresented in my experience. Your age is a negative if not a showstopper. Have you considered applying for executive MBA programs? You may have the managerial profile to justify aiming for EMBA programs like Chicago, Kellogg, Michigan--all top of the heap. I believe age is your only negative, however, so if you must apply to full-time MBA programs (because, for example, you are making a career switch) then I think you could get into some or even most of the schools you listed, with Yale, Toronto, and Michigan being the most doable. My sense is that you may be slightly underappreciating the strength of your profile. Because of your age you will need to make a very strong case for why you are applying now rather than earlier and show them rock-solid, thoroughly due-diligenced post-MBA goals.
