Hi Paul and Linda,

I have just taken the GMAT and would really appreaciate your help on two things:
1. Which are the schools I can apply to other than my target schools.
2. I have done my Masterts in Management Science in Marketing from India. Will that prove to be a hindrance in Admission?

My Profile is as follows:
Personal Details:
Age: 28 years
Sex: Female
Nationality: Indian
Currently residing in Houston, Texas. Currently not working.

Academics:

Undergraduate: Electronics Engineering from an average Indian University. Topper in Class

Post Graduate: Masters in Management Science from an average Indian University. Topper in Class

GMAT: 640 (Q48, V28)

Work Experience:

Most Recent: Worked for a year with ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company (Mumbai) as Channel Marketing Manager. Handled all banks ( approximately 10) as a sales channel for Insurance. Was responsible for all the product POS material design, print and dispatch. Also handled Rural Outdoor Media.

Previously held positions: Worked as Business Development Manager. Handled the Events and Promotions for 5 cities. Had a direct reportee. Had to work together as a team with different agencies on minimum budgets. Rated highly in appraisals

Extra Curricular Activities:
Invest in US stock markets currently.

Won prizes in declamations and debates at school level.

Was the member of the Literary Committee in College

My Strengths:

Good communication skills.
Highly self motivated

My Weakness:
No Community service

Target B Schools: Rice, Mays- Texas A& M, Mc Combs- University of Texas. Also considering Duke.

Goal:
Currently I want to pursue an MBA in Finance from the best University possible. Eventually I want to use all that I have learnt from B School and my experience and reach the level of a CFO .

Divya,

Given your profile, goals, and GMAT score, the following schools would all be doable for you and all of them place unusually large percentages of their classes in finance positions: UNC, Vanderbilt, Toronto, Indiana, Notre Dame, Rochester.

Regarding your existing master's degree, it will be no hindrance to you and will be a modest asset for you if you did well there.
