Dear Paul,
I didn't post details of my profile so you couldn't comment on it.
I hereby again listed my profile below.
I am from Taiwan, graduated from Taiwan Top one University
GMAT 690 / TOFEL (CBT) 267 / Age 25
My academice perfomance in university is quite good, average score is 86.11 and ranked 15/130 when i graduated.
During the last year in university I choose to be an exchange student in Finland, and had a part time job there. The part time job is testing Nokia mobile phone for a global solution company. I was backpacking around Scandinavian countries, Estonia, Russia, Italy, France during this year ( But I don't know whether I should show this experience)
After returning Taiwan, I joined an European corporate and investment bank as a sales assistant selling CDOs for about 2.2 years up to date. Althought I am a sales assistant, I have been covering marketing to clients, client requests, organizing roadshows on my own. I even closed a transaction of ABS CDO this year. As you said, my position is not allowed me to lead people, but I have done something which i think can show my leadership (to impact others). For example, I have been working with our HK team ,London team and clients to replace a manager of a fund we issued. I take the lead of all communicaitons and coordinations.
My future goal after MBA is still a sales in investment bank but i will be aiming at a sales position in regional location(ie. HK) working for top tier IB.
Regarding the extracurricular activities, I was a head of Public relationship team in Guitar club. I was also elected to be a treasurer in Residential assistant association during my stay in dormitory. My main job in the association is to control budget, communicate between students and university staffs, hold activities. I have also won one singing prize of a Kaohsiung High School Alumni association but I don't know wheter it is worthy to be mentioned as well as a part time job I did as an interviewer in AC Nielson during my last year in university.
My other interests are playing piano and skating.
However, I think my weakness will be outside orginization after work.
I almost have nothing to show. The only thing is I just started to attending a Language exchange club.
I am trying to aim at top 20 schools.
My main focus will be Duke/ Columbia/ Yale/ Cornell / CMU
What will you suggest ?? Which schools do you think I have strength to apply according to my profile ?? What points you think I should most focus on when I am writing essays?? Will it be weird that I have a career goal after MBA almost same as what I am doing now ??
Please let me know your thought about my profile. Thank you.
