Paul,
thank you for your honest feedback.
I really enjoyed your insight.
I have two questions for you.
1. age interpretation
I think I do know why the major, top MBA programs are using age variable as one conspicuous indicator of candidate's potential. The older you are, the less potential and less robost career progression you MIGHT have shown, depending on the candidate's unique career circumstance.
It is my belief (not that this would matter much to adcom) that this logic would hold more for traditional candidate who have stayed in one job for some time.
But would this logic still hold for my case when I drastically changed my career path two, three years after college?
In other words, I might not have shown enough career progression in my first two years, and hence my age would indicate that I am nothing but an average John Doe who has struggled with moving up the corporate ladder in my old job. But in reality, I moved to a completely different industry and perhaps showed a healthy career progression.
Would adcom even take consideration of my situation or would they simply use my age as the primary indicator of sorting out their profile?
The question to my background is that I am a Korean American, born in Korea but educated in the U.S. and worked in both countries.
Thank you.
