Yes, you certainly have a chance at admission with your background. They don't expect all applicants to have business backgrounds. They do expect them to be able to show leadership and to present informed, savvy career goals that an MBA would help you achieve. You seem to have both. The fact that you have a "nontraditional" background actually helps you stand out from the crowd (as does being female and coming from a former Soviet republic). Just try to get the highest possible GMAT score they don't worry about your academic readiness for B-school. You may want to read this Accepted.com chat from 2006 about "The MBA Value Proposition for Women Internationally."
