I am also new to the forum - first post. I am wondering about my candidacy into schools Kellogg, U of C, Berkeley, Michigan.
Education: B.A. Northwestern University, major in Economics and minor in Spanish. Overall GPA 3.6/4.0. I also have completed all three levels of the CFA and am awaiting the approval of my work experience to make it official.
Race: White Female
Age: 26
Residence: Chicago
GMAT: this is my weakness - I expect 650 due to difficulties in quant, not verbal.
Work experience: Past 3 years as a fund of hedge funds analyst - working on hedge fund selection and monitoring for equity-related strategies. The one year out of undergrad worked as an operations associate at the biggest hedge fund in Chicago.
Extracurricular: Not much. Monthly volunteer work at the pediatric unit of local hosptial. Marathon runner.
I have heard that Kellogg is difficult for Northwestern undergrads to get in - does anyone know if that's true? None of my 3 NU undergrad friends who applied there have gotten in.
I'm also curious about how important school visits and class visits are in the admissions process. Do schools track this?
