I am looking to go to bschool in sept 2010.
White male
have a 3.05 from a nescac school (not one of the top ones though) in 2004, slightly improve gpa by the end of school.
gmat: 700 (79% math, 83% verbal) 5.5 awa
work experience: 4.5+ years, 2.5+ years @ fidelity doing operations work. 5yrs at application time.
reason for going: as a history major I lack some of the necessary business knowledge to compete, also looking to get out of operations, and into either trading/sales, consulting or entrepreneurship. Looking to be part of an elite network, and take advantage of opportunities that will allow me to contribute more to community/people around me.
looking @ targets of: kenan-flagler, goizueta (legacy of ug), mccombs, kelly, mcdonough, maybe owen?
reaches of: fuqua, ross, and yale.

Hi jber I think your targets are realistic. However, I don't see the full picture here. I don't see any non work / academic related information here. I also do not see clear aims. You say you want to get into either S&T or consulting or entrepreneurship ? Well which one is it? They are all vastly different fields and in your essays you need to pick one and connect it to your background otherwise you will come across as someone who is unsure as to why he/she wants to do an MBA == ding fodder.
