Hi guys,
I am applying to B-schools this fall. I am 3rd generation in the radio industry and am writing a book on my grandfather's career in broadcast. Studying his career and interviewing people he worked with has given me a MUCH better sense of the career path I want to take.
This is not just one of those "I'm writing a book that will never actually happen..." type of things. I've been working with an editor & have a publisher & printer lined up. I also have been working with a fundraiser to start a foundation in my grandfather's name that would launch in conjunction with the publication of the book. I know that I will be finished by the time I enter school, but do not think I will have all of this completed by the time applications are due.
I am currently doing other community service but nothing as meaningful as this project. I do think that it helps my overall story of being passionate about my industry and shows my committment to making a difference & giving back to the business community. It also shows that my work and community serviec relate to each other making my story a more cohesive unit. However, I'm wondering if it is appropriate to put an emphasis on this in my applications as it is not a completed project.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
