Hi,
I would like if someone could evaluate my profile and advise me where I could shoot my darts in an efficient way.
My profile is a little untypical, that’s why I would be glad to receive your wise opinions.
I studied in the best high school in my country (South America) and I applied to one of the best universities to pursue an Engineering undergraduate degree. I was accepted but at that time I wasn’t sure about what I wanted to do with my life, so I rejected the offer of that university. Instead of enrolling on that program, I began to work to help my family financially speaking, and I worked in many different things from salesman to TV actor.
When I was around mid 20s I was working as a sales representative in a top international bank and I realized that wanted to learn more about the Financial Markets, that’s why at this time I decided to go back to school and I enrolled in an evening program in one of the best universities in my country to pursue an Engineering degree with major in finance.
At the end of the first year on school I purposed a project to a group of wealthy investors to set up a hedge fund, and I made it. They trusted me and the fund was formed. It last about 3 years with good and not so good times and finished past year affected by the financial crisis and the lack of management experience, but I learned a lot from it.
At the present time I’m 33 and finishing my undergraduate degree by December this year, and planning to pursue an MBA to have all the necessary tools to insert my self into a position in the financial industry to gain more experience for a couple of years and then go back to the entrepreneurship and set up again my own business in the financial industry and this time do it well.
Here some numbers:
Undergraduate (5 years): Engineer with major in Finance
GPA: 3.7/4.0 (Ranked 1st of my class – Dean’s Honor Roll)
GMAT: 720 avg (Test Preparation)
Teaching Assistant: Macroeconomics I-II
Research Assistant: Department of Finance. At the present time researching on forecast of financial assets trends (Neuronal Networks, Chaos Theory, etc.). One research paper not published yet.
Military Training: Yes, 1 year (Compulsory Military Service).
According to these facts which programs do your recommend me to apply.
Thank you in advance
