Paul/Linda,
Sorry to pepper you with questions, I'm in the process of ramping up for R2 applications and just wanted to make sure I had my priorities straight before diving in.
In terms of recommenders, there are schools like HBS/Stanford which require 3, while most others like Wharton/MIT require 2.
For the schools which require 3, I am using 2 professional recommenders and 1 community work related recommender.
For the schools which require 2, would you recommend using the 2 professional recommenders, or 1 professional and 1 community work to show my different sides?
Just to provide some context, I spent my first 2 years out of university at a private equity firm, and have spent the last year and a half in a corporate development role at a publicly traded corporation. In terms of the community work, I have been involved with this particular non-profit for 6 years and I am currently the president of its alumni association and sit on the board as well.
Which alternative do you think would be more effective from an admissions standpoint?
Thanks for your insight.
